A Daycare Center for a New and Better Life

The Don Bosco Children Center supports the education and social reintegration of children.
After the first phase which includes literacy and professional training courses, children can choose between two paths: the academic one, to continue their regular school studies, and the Technical and Professional Education and Training one. The center enables young people to improve their basic academic knowledge and behavior.
Furthermore, good hygiene practices, daily and social skills are taught and modulated.
Children can thus develop practical skills and face the world of work with greater confidence.
Children are given the opportunity to work with the land they know, learning the basics of agriculture and animal care. This keeps them engaged, contributes to their well-being, and fosters greater self-awareness.
Initial contact with the children is informal, often beginning with group counseling sessions held on the streets to create a welcoming environment and put them at ease.
The center currently has a small daycare facility consisting of two small rooms and a single toilet. Their goal is to expand the daycare, and we want to help them achieve this vision.
Welcoming young children means offering them the opportunity to grow in a stimulating, safe, healthy, and hygienic environment.
The goal of the expansion is to provide this opportunity to as many children as possible.
The testimony
Every morning, Abba Angelo travels to the city of Addis Ababa to look for children in need of help.
The children, knowing that the good shepherd will come looking for them, are already waiting for him.

The work diary
Thanks to the contribution provided in 2024 by ANCE (National Association of Building Constructors), the expansion work on the nursery began on January 15, 2025 and in just over a month the progress is already visible.
