Where: Tanzania, Dakawa

A place where dreams come home

In a region shaped by wild beauty and daily hardship, life flows through villages, ancient traditions, and limited resources. It is in this corner of Tanzania — among the Maasai, Waluguru, Wasukuma tribes and many others — that a new path is taking shape. An initiative born from deep listening to the community and built day by day through concrete, shared actions.

In the Dakawa mission, founded in 2003 by two Croatian missionaries, Father Drazan Klapez and Father Nikola Saric, a vision for the future has been growing for years. Thanks in part to our support, two key projects are coming to life, essential for the development and unity of the community.

A multifunctional center with dormitories for girls. A place of education, gathering, and welcome for over 1,500 young people. The center will offer educational and cultural activities, as well as opportunities for dialogue between different tribes and religions, also welcoming international volunteers. Inside, a safe and dignified dormitory will give girls the chance to study and build their future, even in difficult family situations.

The Church of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta will become a new spiritual and social landmark for the entire village. Construction is moving forward with enthusiasm, and the inauguration — scheduled for September 4, 2025 — will be a joyful moment shared by the whole community.
