A school for a fairer and more sustainable future
Agricultural and livestock practices have also been transformed. Surrounding the village, there are fields dedicated to growing wheat, potatoes, corn, and beans, while goats, cows, and pigs are raised.
The Baba Camillo School will be built on the site of an old carpentry workshop, creating a modern learning space for elementary and middle school students. Thanks to contributions from local families, 150 children are currently studying in renovated rooms, but more space is needed to accommodate up to 350 students.
And we want to help them achieve this goal.
Knowledge is the key to a fairer and more sustainable future, as it reduces inequalities and gives every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The testimony
Sister Nivardina leads the mission’s activities.
She is deeply inspired by the dedication and unconditional love of Baba Camillo, the priest and founder of the mission, who passed away in July 2022. His life was devoted to the men and women of Kipengere.
“If you have a heavy heart, spending time with children and playing with them will immediately make you feel better.”
